why in the heck can't I have KKK and drug lords as my friends? As long as they wish to see it keep going, wish they did more, and did it when I was 8.

Being on the board is only the beginning. Ayers invited Sen. Obama to speak on youth education with him at the University of Chicago in 1997 and again in 2002 (after Woods) they were speaking together at panels funded by the Chicago Public Library. They obviously were friends and still are. Heck, even Sen. Obama's campaign has said the two are "friendly."

Both candidates work with and are good friends of Senate Majority leader Robert Byrd, who used to be a member of the KKK. So using your analogy has little meaning.
